What to look for in a scooter

A 3-wheel scooter turns more tightly, which helps indoors and in narrow store aisles. A 4-wheel scooter is more stable on uneven ground. For outdoor use, look for large pneumatic tires, enhanced suspension, higher ground clearance and a long-range battery; we stock models that can exceed 16 miles on a charge.

Check the weight rating against the rider: heavy-duty scooters typically support 350 to 500 lbs. If the scooter has to travel, choose a model that disassembles for transport, or see our vehicle lifts.

Rent or buy

Rent for a short-term need: scooter rentals have a 7-day minimum, by the week or the month, with store pickup or delivery. Buy when you will use it every day. Our White Glove delivery for a new scooter covers full assembly, battery charging, safety training and removal of the packaging, usually in 60 to 90 minutes. Medicare and insurance

Medicare Part B covers a scooter only when your doctor documents that you need it to get around inside your home. Short-term rentals are private pay, and we can provide a scooter while Medicare authorization is in progress. We accept Medicare, most secondary and supplemental plans, and many private insurers.
